Teaching my children programming I

Today was the first lesson. We did not even touch the computer today. With a white board I explained the basic parts of a computer, with special emphasis on storage.

What is memory? What types of memory are there? What is an SSD? What is RAM? What does the computer do when you tell it to remember something? How does it retrieve previously stored information?

The session went really well. Better than expected! They were very into it and the 6 year old even sat down to learn as well. I may invite her again to some lessons, but I think she is still too young. She should play with Scratch a little more first.
